Moisturised, beautiful skin with high-quality omega-3 fatty acids
Japan has become the world's leading longevity nation, with one in five people now aged 65 or older. In this rapidly aging society, the desire to stay healthy is stronger than ever. At BioBank, we support this wish through our range of health products, especially our food supplements.
Plant oil is a supplement containing high-quality plant-based omega-3 fatty acids. The word 'fat' often brings to mind high calories and a negative image for beauty. However, by balancing your lipid intake, you can improve the metabolism of cells throughout your body and enjoy beneficial effects such as firmness and moisture. Among omega-3 fatty acids, alpha-linolenic acid cannot be synthesised in the body and must be obtained through diet, making it an essential fatty acid.
Omega-3 fatty acids are essential for building the cell membranes that make up healthy skin. By consuming high-quality, plant-based oils, you can help maintain a proper lipid balance.
Our "Plant Oil" supplement is rich in flaxseed oil, a plentiful source of alpha-linolenic acid, an omega-3 fatty acid. To support optimal balance of dietary fats, it also contains a well-balanced blend of fatty acids—including omega-6 and omega-9—from a total of eight different plant sources, making it an easy and efficient way to support your beauty from within.
・Flaxseed oil
Made from flaxseeds, it is characterised by its high content of alpha-linolenic acid. It also contains beta-carotene and vitamin E.
・Borage seed oil
This oil is made from the seeds of borage, a type of herb. It is known for its high content of gamma-linolenic acid.
・Sunflower oil
This oil is made from sunflower seeds. It is high in linoleic acid and contains vitamin E, calcium, potassium, and other nutrients.
・Avocado oil
An oil made from avocado fruit. It contains unsaturated fatty acids, mainly oleic acid and linoleic acid.
・Rice and safflower oil
A blend of rice oil and safflower oil. It is characterised by its content of oleic acid, linoleic acid and palmitic acid.
・Perilla oil (shiso oil)
An oil made from the seeds of an annual plant in the mint family. It is rich in alpha-linolenic acid and is gaining attention as a beauty-related food.
・Tea seed oil
An oil made from tea seeds. It is mainly composed of oleic acid, but also contains linoleic acid and palmitic acid.
・Extra virgin olive oil
An oil made by pressing olive fruits. It has a high oleic acid content and also contains linoleic acid and linolenic acid.
Flaxseed oil is rich in alpha-linolenic acid, but it is known to be sensitive to heat. The flaxseed oil used in our ‘Plant Oil’ is extracted using a low-temperature pressing method that does not destroy the components during refining. This allows us to use unrefined flaxseed oil generously, enabling the extraction of high-purity oil.
Additionally, the capsules embracing the eight oils are made entirely from plant-based ingredients. Even those who are sensitive to the distinctive smell or taste of oils can enjoy this product every day with confidence.
・Gamma-linolenic acid (omega-6)
Gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) is an essential fatty acid that the human body can produce, but its levels can be insufficient depending on factors such as individual constitution, age, and diets high in saturated fats (such as those from animal sources). In nature, GLA is found only in limited sources—primarily breast milk and a few plants like borage oil and evening primrose oil—making it difficult to obtain through diet alone.
・Alpha-linolenic Acid (Omega-3)
Alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) is a precursor to EPA and DHA, but because the human body cannot synthesize it, it must be obtained through the diet. ALA is found in only a limited number of plant-based oils—such as flaxseed oil and perilla oil—making it challenging to get sufficient amounts from food alone.
・Oleic Acid (Omega-9)
Oleic acid is a fatty acid that has been attracting increasing attention in recent years. It is found in olive oil, rapeseed oil, hazelnuts, as well as in animal fats like beef tallow and pork fat.
While oleic acid offers a range of health benefits, it is also high in calories. For this reason, it's recommended to choose plant-based sources and limit intake of animal fats to avoid excessive consumption.
