BioBank Co., Ltd. was established in June 1974 by Dr. Iichiroh Ohhira, and marked its 50th anniversary in 2024. BioBank initially focused on supplying agricultural materials, such as fertilizers, utilizing Iichiroh Ohhira's unique fermentation technology. Over time, we expanded our product range to include health supplements and cosmetics.
An inherent feature of our original plant-based fermentation extract is its inclusion of three essential components: Prebiotics, Probiotics, and Postbiotics. We also conduct extensive research on lactic acid bacteria and plant fermentation extracts, accumulating significant scientific evidence in the process. First launched in Malaysia in the 1980s, our products have since expanded beyond Southeast Asia to the United States and Europe. Today, our products are distributed in over 35 countries worldwide.
In March 2023, BioBank Co., Ltd. became a member of the NIITAKA group which is centered around NIITAKA Co., Ltd., a leading manufacturer and supplier of industrial detergents and solid fuels. The NIITAKA Group also includes several companies in the chemical and cosmetics industries and is actively expanding its global operations. Through this capital and business alliance, we are confident that we will gain valuable new perspectives, resources, and strong support, all of which will drive our continued growth together with our customers and partners.
